Arlington is one of Greater Boston's most desirable inner ring suburbs, about 6 miles northwest of downtown, with A rated schools on Niche's 2026 list and a fully built out housing stock that creates genuine scarcity. As of August 2026, per MLS data, single family homes in Arlington sold for an average of $1,374,177 against an average list price of $1,303,129, roughly 5.5% over asking. The Red Line terminus at Alewife sits just over the Cambridge line, a short walk from East Arlington, which makes that end of town one of the most transit accessible places outside Cambridge itself.
